Community Mural Program

An opportunity presented itself in 2023 to create a mural for the Dublin, Ohio Walmart working with the Community Mural Program. It was a super quick turn around, only one work to concept, create, and submit. Challenge accepted!!!!
I created a design with a colorful palette to capture the vibrance of the Dublin community. It is inspired by local traditions and landmarks such as the Irish Festival, the architecture of the historic downtown, and the new pedestrian bridge, along with the vast natural resources found in the area such as Ohio's amazing waterways and lush green spaces utilized for recreational activities.

ArtWraps 2022

I don't know what it is about thistles, they just make me happy. The corky shapes, textures, and the gorgeous pink puff at the top! How can you not smile? This work is a collage of a few smaller paintings created in my studio. The paint guides me more than me guiding the paint, together allowing the flowers to emerge how they please.

In 2022, I was super excited to create this collage to submit for consideration, and EVEN MORE EXCITED, when it was accepted. I love driving by and seeing my artwork on the utility box!

THE DAYTON BILLBOARD PROJECT

In 2001, I participated in the Dayton Billboard Project, lead by Bill Tudor. The goal of the project was to create artwork that would be displayed whenever a billboard was not in use. It was an amazing experience to paint on a paper surface that was about 20 x 40 feet. The process was something completely new to me and had a few challenges. Painting in a studio that was barely larger than the painting was the biggest challenge. Not being able to back up far enough to view the painting in entirety, meant that I ended up pacing from one end to the other trying to imagine how it looks from one angle. Another issue is that I didn’t document the process or project very well. This was before smart phones, so I only have a few images that I took on a state of the art Advantix Camera. Well, at the time it was state of the art. That combined with being in a room that was so small has left me with low quality visuals.
